Safer Swimming and Hot-Tubbing

Hypoxic Blackout can affect anyone who is breath-holding; from an experienced swimmer to a Navy Seal. Low oxygen levels to the brain causes one to blackout or faint in the water, leading to accidental drowning.

Prevention:

• Never play breath-holding games

• Never swim alone

• Don’t ignore the urge to breath

• Take breaks when swimming to avoid hyperventilating
