Stay Cool in Your Hot Tub

Just because the mercury is rising doesn’t mean you should think twice about taking a relaxing soak in your hot tub. Here are some tips that will make it easy to enjoy your spa even on the hottest days.

Lower the Water Temperature
Your hot tub temperature usually hovers around 100 degrees, so dial down the temperature to cool off the water. If the outside temperature permits, feel free to turn off the heater altogether.

Stay Hydrated
This is a good rule of thumb to follow when it’s hot, even when you’re not in your hot tub. But when it comes to staying cool in the spa, definitely keep a water bottle nearby.

Soak in the Shade
If your hot tub is in direct sunlight, consider putting up an umbrella to deflect some of the rays. A hat goes a long way in keeping your head and body feeling much cooler.

Wait Until Sundown
The scorching summer sun will only get your hot tub—and you—hotter. A simple solution is to wait until the sun sets before taking the plunge. Besides, what’s better than a relaxing soak under the stars?

Colorado Pool + Spa Scapes’ sales manager, Jennifer, adds: “Summer is my favorite time of the year and my favorite time to use my spa. It’s so refreshing to turn the temperature down to 98° and relax with my pool noodle in the sun. I always bring my iced tea and music. I never forget to wear sunblock and a hat. And I can still turn the temperature up to 101° to enjoy in the evening with my family and friends.”
